Pictures from the last day of the 光之盛宴 ("Luminarie Festival") at the 國立中正紀念館 (Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall) in Taipei, which we accidentally came across while visiting the Memorial Hall's park to see 櫻花 (Cherry blossoms). The festival itself was a slightly weird event; the free view from outside and from the top of the memorial hall appeared better than what people buying the overpriced entry tickets got to see.

  • Cherry blossoms (櫻花).
  • A yarn ball on a stick (or some sort of exotic flower not part of my limited botany vocabulary).
  • Strelitzia, also known as Bird of Paradise.
  • One of the birds in the park surrounding the 國立中正紀念館 (Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall).
  • More Cherry blossoms (櫻花).
  • Except for hired models nothing seems to attract photographers (and wannabes) like blossoming Cherry trees ...
  • Lanterns inside the main Memorial Hall building.
  • There's only so much you can say about lanterns, so I'm going to let the beautiful pictures speak for themselves ...
